Alpine Spa

“Sanus per aqua” – health through water, this wisdom was already appreciated by the ancient Romans. Now this kind of relaxation and recreation is available to you in the new Alpine Spa of the Hotel Alpenhof. Enjoy the soothing and health-promoting effects of deep heat, herbal steam and salt crystals – or purify your body with a sauna infusion. According to the findings of Sebastian Kneipp, this wellness area was created based on the centuries-old tradition of the Alpine peoples.

Our wellness area

With great attention to detail, the Alpin Spa created the flair of an Alpine village square around the village fountain. The traditional construction of a log house with a real Valais stone roof and wooden barn with regionally typical roof made of wooden shingles will transport you to the world of the Alps. On over 500m² you will find:

  • Alpine sauna
  • Bio mountain hay sauna
  • Meadow herbal steam bath
  • Brine steam bath
  • Infrared heat couches
  • Infrared deep heat
  • Ice cave
  • Outdoor rock grotto
  • Kneipp basin
  • Grander drinking fountain
  • Isar experience showers
  • Resting couches

This oasis to feel good, relax and unwind – exclusively for guests of the Alpenhof Krün.

The wellness area can also be booked completely as a private spa after 20.00 on request.

The individual steam baths and saunas of the Alpine Spa

Incomparable alpine sauna in block construction

With an 8- to 12-minute sauna session in the log cabin-style alpine sauna with real Valais stone roof, you can bring your eventful day to a relaxing end. At 85°C degrees and a humidity of 30% to 35%, your body purifies itself in the most beneficial way.

Meadow herbal steam bath with real rock crystals

The pleasant scent of meadow herbs makes you long for spring with its fragrant and blooming flower meadows in May and June. Relax your muscles and free your mind and soul at 42°C to 45°C with humidity between 80% and 100%.

Brine steam bath with unique salt walls

A brine steam bath at 42°C to 45°C degrees and humidity between 80% and 100% is beneficial for the respiratory tract and skin. Such a steam bath in winter, when it is cold outside and it gets dark early, provides the necessary rest and regeneration.

Bio mountain hay sauna

Our organic mountain hay sauna with real hay from the hunchback meadows allows even heat-sensitive and poorly circulating people to enjoy a pleasant sauna visit at temperatures between 40°C and 60°C and a humidity of 50% to 60%.

Kneipp basin

Strengthen your immune system by treading water as invented by Father Sebastian Kneipp more than 130 years ago. Alternate between hot and cold water in the circuit, stimulating your metabolism and blood circulation.

Infrared heat couches

The pleasant warmth of infrared radiation penetrates deep into the muscles and has a healing effect. Relax after a day in the mountains on our handmade loungers, with radiant heat gently acting on your body from above.

Ice fountain

After taking a sauna, there is nothing more refreshing than a short and intense cool down. The melting ice on the heated body makes the skin feel tingly, stimulates the circulation and at the same time strengthens the immune system.

Cradle couches

Rocking and swaying makes satisfied and relaxed. Feel the special effect of rocking yourself into deep relaxation to the rhythm of your breathing, soothing your body and mind after a varied day.

Infrared cabin

Experience gentle sweating in the infrared cabin, which is also called infrared sauna. Your muscles are relaxed after an eventful day with direct deep heat, which triggers a rapid and healthy sweating response.
